Reunion Memory Book Ideas
Since our main product offering is the memory book, we have the opportunity to talk to reunion planners and committees all over the country regarding layout and content ideas for their reunion books. Most of the time, the person we talk to has no idea what they want to do or where to start. Though almost anything can be included in a memory book, there are some basics that we have found most classmates and family members enjoy: 1. An introduction and welcome letter from the reunion committee, including pictures of committee members. 2. "Then and Now" photographs of each classmate/family member in attendance along with a brief biography. 3. A section honoring those classmates or family members who are deceased. 4. Miscellaneous pictures from the actual reunion event, picnic, happy hour, etc. 5. A group photograph of all classmates or family in attendance. 6. Some pictures of the school, church, neighborhood, etc.--then and now. 7. A "Remember When" section with pictures and comments of events, issues, and trivia from the graduation year or from special family events. 8. A directory with contact information for each classmate or member of the family. 9. A family tree or some sort of reference to the family history. 10. Anything else that you want! One of the challenges of putting the memory book together is the compilation and organization of all the photographs and captions that go together. Our photo guidelines page from our website explains the ideal way to handle this. One other thing to note is that many folks we talk to want to have a memory book available to hand out at the actual reunion event. In our opinion, a much better and more cherished book would be one that is actually produced after the event, as it can include pictures depicting all the great fun that was had at the reunion. An added advantage is that there isn't as much pressure on the reunion committee to get the book put together in time for the event. We are happy to consult with committee members in charge of their memory books, so feel free to contact us toll free at (866) 391-7281 or by email at info@reunion-memory-book.com.
